RSS Feeds

RSS FEEDS

What are they and why you need to set them up on your PC now! RSS feeds have been called the DVR of the web. In other words, you get to watch what you want to watch and when you want to watch all in one place, without surfing the channels.

Rss feeds are basically a way of bringing all of the great content on the web to you. So, instead of your having to bookmark, or even remembering to look at your bookmarks, all data and info comes right to you! To be an expert, you need to be on top of your client and candidate trends..

What is happening in your sector? what is happening in your market, etc. Heck, find out who is laid off, what companies are making moves, who got promoted, etc etc. It takes hours to scour the web to find great content to share..
Well, RSS feeds basically enable you to set it up once and give you one webpage with all of the great info! Your clients and candidates likely are not doing this. So, by spending a few minutes, you can easily be the go to expert that always has the answers and facts at their fingertips. This is what you will use for your newsletters, emails, marketing campaigns, posts on LinkedIn, tweets, etc.

RSS READERS

This is where it all happens. an RSS reader allows you to enter web addressed, called RSS feeds and they all show up on one page! RSS readers include a page on MyYahoo, Google Reader and more. I’ll save you the quick and easy Google Reader or My Yahoo set up. You can find that online at their sites or on youtube.. They show you how you simply go to most websites.

Look for that little orange box with the radio signals. Click on it and you get their RSS feed address. You simply add this to your reader ONCE and the reader stays up to date with everything that you subscribed to!! Where should you subscribe? Frankly, any site that you ever go to that has value and that has the orange RSS logo! Rss Feeds all over LinkedIn (articles, questions and answers, etc) Rss feeds all over every blog that applies to your training, as well as your candidates and clients Corporate blogs (list your top prospects blogs) Personal blogs from your candidates online magazines Forums Network groups.

Hey, where do you think I get all of my tweets and great articles that I share with my readers, etc?
